HPV Vaccine Awareness Project

The HPV Vaccine Awareness project commenced in March 2012 and will be completed in August 2014.

It is funded by the Greek General Secretariat for Research and Technology and carried out by Christina Karamanidou, post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Peloponnese, Greece.

Its aim is to explore knowledge, attitudes and communication preferences of different segments of the Greek public with regards to HPV and the HPV vaccine. Specifically, to investigate lay and professional attitudes in Greece regarding the HPV vaccine as well as the knowledge, and communication preferences of teenage girls, parents of eligible for vaccine children and young women. The long term goal of this project is to recommend effective educational activities and health policy adjustments.
